Coldplay Takes Over Abu Dhabi: Everything You Need to Know About the Concert
Get ready, Coldplay fans! One of the biggest bands in the world is heading to Abu Dhabi, and the excitement is off the charts. The legendary British rock band, led by frontman Chris Martin, is bringing their critically acclaimed "Music of the Spheres" tour to the UAE, and it's shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events of the year.
Whether you’re a longtime Coldplay enthusiast or just discovering their music, here’s everything you need to know about their highly anticipated Abu Dhabi concert.
Multiple Concert Dates to Accommodate High Demand
Originally, Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi concert was scheduled for just one show on Saturday, January 11, 2025, but the overwhelming demand from fans led to the addition of three more dates! As of now, Coldplay will be performing on January 09, 11, 12, and 14 at Zayed Sports City Stadium. Four shows mean more opportunities to experience Coldplay’s magic live.
Coldplay's addition of a fourth show in Abu Dhabi means that up to 160,000 people could witness the British band live, making it the biggest series of performances by a single artist in the UAE. This massive turnout easily surpasses Ed Sheeran's two-night performance in Dubai in January, where 62,000 fans attended his outdoor concerts.
What to Expect from the “Music of the Spheres” Tour
Coldplay’s "Music of the Spheres" tour is not just a concert; it’s a larger-than-life experience. The tour has received amazing reviews across the globe, with fans praising the incredible production value, mind-blowing visuals, and immersive light shows. Expect to see dazzling LED wristbands lighting up the stadium, a stunning fireworks display, and a stage setup that brings you closer to the band no matter where you're seated.
Fans heading to their Abu Dhabi gig can expect all the greatest hits such as Yellow, The Scientist, Fix You, and many more timeless classics. But that’s not all; Coldplay will be performing a mix of their latest hits from the Music Of The Spheres album, along with a sneak peek of songs from their upcoming release, Moon Music.
Joining Coldplay for their Abu Dhabi performance is rising star Elyanna, a Palestinian-Chilean artist who fuses Arab pop with Latin rhythms. After sharing the stage with the band at Glastonbury 2024, she’s ready to bring that same vibrant energy to the UAE.
Can You Still Get Coldplay Tickets?
If you’re still hoping to snag tickets for Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi shows, there’s a glimmer of hope! Tickets were initially released in three batches and were sold out quickly. However, a limited number of Infinity Ticketspriced at just AED 81.60 for random spots in the stadium could still be available on Friday, November 22, 2024, subject to availability. For die-hard fans who missed out on the UAE shows, there’s always the option to try your luck with concerts outside the GCC.
Children under five will not be permitted to attend the concert, and anyone under 14 is restricted from entering the standing area on the stadium's pitch. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by someone aged 21 or older. Tickets will be available exclusively through the Ticketmaster app, becoming accessible 72 hours before the event. No tickets will be sent via email or printable formats, and entry with printed tickets will not be allowed at the venue.
